Award winning charity, Baby Umbrella, invites parents to 'Find their Village' at free social events. 

Baby Umbrella, a local award winning charity dedicated to supporting new parents, is thrilled to announce its upcoming community events, “Find Your Village at our Big Give Bake Sale”. Taking place in Otford Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge, all local parents are invited to join them to meet other families, get support, and to find their village.

 

Parenting can be a challenging and isolating journey, especially for new mums and dads. The Find Your Village Big Give Bake Sale aims to create a warm and welcoming space where local parents can come together, share experiences, and build meaningful connections with others who are navigating the joys and challenges of parenthood.

 

This event is running concurrently with The Big Give’s women and girls matched funding campaign. This means that during the weeks of 11th - 18th October any donation made on The Big Give website for Baby Umbrella will be doubled! Baby Umbrella charity receives no statutory funding for their crucial new parent support services and events like this are an important way to keep these services available to the local community for free.

 

Events are running across West Kent on a drop-in basis during the following dates and times:

Baby Umbrella truly believe that it takes a village to raise a baby, and that every parent should have access to skilled, compassionate support, alongside a strong social support system during their parenting journey. By attending this event parents will have the chance to connect with others who are at a similar point in their parenting journey, and who may go on to become lifelong friends and allies.

 

"We understand that parenting can sometimes feel overwhelming, and we want to remind local parents that they are not alone," said Karen McCully, Clinical, Community and Client lead of Baby Umbrella. "By coming along to Baby Umbrella, parents will have an opportunity to build connections, share their stories, and discover the incredible support network that exists within our community."

 

These events are open to parents of all backgrounds, ages, and stages of parenthood. Whether you are a new parent, expecting your first child, or have multiple children, this bake sale is designed for you.

 

Baby Umbrella is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of parents and families in the West Kent community. They provide 1-1 specialist appointments and social groups to support families with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, expressing, introducing solids, adjusting to parenthood and much more!
