Would you like to meet other local parents? Do you have any niggling questions but don't feel you need a specialist appointment? Why not book in to one of our Peer Support Groups?

Our Peer Supporters are specially trained volunteers who have breastfed their own babies. They can introduce you to other parents as well as listen, support and offer up to date information on common questions relating to breastfeeding and early parenting.

You can book in to our Peer Support groups or simply drop in. See our locations and sessions times here

Peer Supporters can support you with common questions relating to breastfeeding, bottle feeding, expressing, adjusting to parenthood, infant sleep, introducing solids and much more!

Peer Support Testimonials

"Baby Umbrella has saved me. I felt so lonely and anxious at the start of my journey as a mother. This warm and welcoming group made me feel more confident and happy. Also the brownies are amazing!!"

Why Peer Support matters

Parents tell us that one of the biggest things they need support with is meeting other families and building a safe and trusted network for the ups and downs of early parenthood. Some families are new to the area, others have not yet built local networks outside of work, and many simply want to meet people in the same phase of parenthood.

Everything changes overnight when a baby arrives! There's so much to learn, it feels so important to get it right, and it's common to feel quite dislocated from your old network of friends who may not be interested in talking about sleep and baby poo!

A community of close local families can really change things. At Baby Umbrella, we recognise that we're all in this crazy journey together, doing our absolute best at a pretty tough job! Our Peer Supporters know how this feels - they've all been there. They'll offer you a hot drink, a warm smile, and non-judgemental information and support as you find your own unique way.

Many of our families come every single week. It's wonderful to see friends being made and stories being shared. Come on in - you're more than welcome.
