10 ways to support Baby Umbrella

Baby Umbrella Charity relies on support and fundraising to keep our services FREE for local families. We are always so grateful for the amazing ways in which people choose to support us, so if you’d like to help us, here are a couple of ideas to get you going…

1. Payroll Giving

Many employers offer a Give As You Earn (GAYE) Scheme, which gives you the opportunity to make regular tax-efficient donations to charity directly from your monthly salary. Find out more about this by reading our blog article here.

2. Get your Bake On!

Who doesn’t love a slice of cake whilst doing a good deed?! A bake sale is a quick, easy and tasty way to support us! Invite all your friends over, or set up a stall at work, and get baking (or buy them and hide the packaging - shhh we won’t tell!)

3. Give As You Shop

Registering to give as you shop is easy with Amazon Smile, Easyfundraising and eBay.

Set us as your Amazon Smile charity, then bookmark Amazon Smile on desktop and activate it on your app. Amazon gives as you shop and it costs you nothing!

Also, you can sign up to Easyfundraising and they donate to us, at no extra cost to you, when you shop with thousands of their online retailers.

You can also make us your favourite eBay charity and choose to give a little each time you checkout.

4. Give Regularly

Setting up a monthly donation can ensure that we can continue to support new parents as they embark on their journey. Just the cost of a cup of coffee each month can make a difference to the support that we are able to offer. You can set up a regular donation here.

5. Share our message

It’s the little things that make a big impact. Sign up to our newsletter and make sure you're following us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and get liking, sharing and commenting on our posts. These little things make a huge difference and allow us to spread our message further - after all, sharing is caring!

6. Give your time

Are you an expert tea maker, a budding Great British Bake Off contestant or a fundraising, accounting, marketing or administrative extraordinaire?

If so we would love to hear from you!

Baby Umbrella is made up of a wonderful group of volunteers who dedicate their time to helping us to keep things running. If you can spare a couple of hours a week, please get in touch!

7. De-Clutter for Donations!

Tired of tripping over all of those baby toys, or struggling for space in your wardrobe? Why not have a clear out and sell your unwanted baby toys, clothing or household items and donate the proceeds to Baby Umbrella! Car boot fairs, garage sales, Facebook Market Place or Vinted are all great places to find new homes for your unwanted items.

8. Remember us in your Will

As much as we would like to ignore it, it is important to make sure you have a Will. It’s a legal document that most people choose to write when they reach a certain milestone in their life, such as getting married, buying a home or starting a family.

Charities benefit hugely from gifts left in Wills, so if there is a cause close to your heart then leave them a gift. No matter how big or small, it can make the world of difference.

9. Give As You Play

TW Lotto is a weekly lottery that raises money for good causes in Tunbridge Wells. Simply select Baby Umbrella as your chosen charity when purchasing your £1 ticket, and you'll have a chance to win a large weekly jackpot! We receive 50p from every ticket purchased, plus 10p will go to support other good causes in Tunbridge Wells, so its win-win! You can play TW Lotto here.

10. Take On A Challenge!

Tick something off that Bucket List and do something BIG for Baby Umbrella! What about a sponsored bungee jump, running an organised race, or even a dance-a-thon dressed as a unicorn (yes it’s been done!)?

Whether its a new challenge, or something you’ve always wanted to do, we can help you to get the ball rolling and celebrate your achievements! So what are you waiting for, you can set up your own fundraising page here by simply clicking 'fundraise' and following the steps - don't forget to let us know!
