As a small charity we rely on fundraising and donations to keep our services running.
Last year*, we supported 1,596 families in Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells in their early parenting journey and we couldn't have done it without the generous support of our donors.
There are a number of ways which allow you to regularly support us, and our families, each month.
Give as you Earn
Make your donation tax-efficient!
Many employers offer a Give As You Earn (GAYE) Scheme, which gives you the opportunity to make regular tax-efficient donations to charity directly from your monthly salary. Your donation is taken after National Insurance, but before Income Tax is calculated and deducted - meaning this could put you into a lower tax bracket, and your donation will immediately get tax-relief making your money go further at no extra cost to you! Simply set a manageable monthly donation, and that amount will be deducted from your pay each month - before tax.

If you would like to start Giving As You Earn, speak to your employer to find out more. If your circumstances change, your monthly contributions can also be adjusted by speaking to your employer.

Gift Aid
Make your donations worth more, at no extra cost to you!
Gift Aid allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give, without costing you anything extra.
Your donations will qualify as long as you're a UK tax payer making a personal donation, and your donations are not more than 4 times what you have paid in tax in that tax year. Just make sure you tick the Gift Aid permission box when making your donation online, or sign our Gift Aid form when making a donation in person, to allow us to claim Gift Aid on your donation.
Higher rate tax payers may be able to receive tax relief on their donations. Please check the government website for more information. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you're unsure whether your donation is eligible for Gift Aid.
Leaving a gift in your will
By leaving a legacy, you will be supporting the next generation.
There are many ways you can leave a legacy in your will.
Your donation will either:
be taken off the value of your estate before Inheritance Tax is calculated
reduce your Inheritance Tax rate, if 10% or more of your estate is left to charity
By leaving a gift to Baby Umbrella in your will, you'll enable us to provide our support services to families who are experiencing a challenging early parenting journey, and may even enable us to expand the support we can offer to families in the future.
