Help us to support local families

Updated: Mar 17, 2023

Could you spare the cost of a cup of coffee each month to help us support local families?

As a small charity we rely on fundraising and generous donations from our supporters to keep our services running, enabling us to provide local families with the help they need with their early parenting journeys.

There are a number of ways which allow you to regularly support us, and our families, each month.

Give as you Earn

Many employers now offer a Give As You Earn (GAYE) Scheme, which gives you the opportunity to make regular tax-efficient donations to charity directly from your monthly salary - meaning GAYE helps your donation go further. You may also be eligible for employer match funding for any fundraising you do for us, why not check with them!

Simply decide on the amount you wish to donate and that amount will be deducted from your pay each month - before tax.

Monthly Donations

A regular donation ensures local families can get the support they need, whenever they need it.

Donating is quick and easy. Simply click the link below, choose the amount, the frequency you would like to donate, and follow the simple step by step instructions.

Your regular donation makes a real difference to local families.

Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows us to claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give, without costing you anything extra.

Your donations will qualify as long as you're a UK tax payer making a personal donation, and your donations are not more than 4 times what you have paid in tax in that tax year. Just make sure you tick the Gift Aid permission box when making your donation online, or sign our Gift Aid form when making a donation in person, to allow us to claim Gift Aid on your donation.

Higher rate tax payers may be able to receive tax relief on their donations. Please check the government website for more information. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you're unsure whether your donation is eligible for Gift Aid.

Leaving a gift in your will

Why not leave a legacy by supporting babies and their families through Baby Umbrella?

Your donation will either:

  • be taken off the value of your estate before Inheritance Tax is calculated

  • reduce your Inheritance Tax rate, if 10% or more of your estate is left to charity

By leaving a gift to Baby Umbrella in your will, you'll enable us to provide our support services to families who are experiencing a challenging early parenting journey, and may even enable us to expand the support we can offer to families in the future.

More information can be found on the Government Website here.

Monthly Prize Draws

As a thank you to all of our supporters, each month we run a prize draw for anyone who has made a donation within that month.

You can make a donation of any value, and you'll be automatically entered into the draw to win a variety of prizes. We've recently given out tickets to local chocolate making workshops, live football matches, family day passes for local attractions, and there are many more exciting prizes to come!

All you need to do to enter is make a donation to us, or email us with the subject '[Month] Prize Draw'.
